1. Is it a Song Plus in fact?
Observe, we get it. The name resembles something that would be displayed on a karaoke machine. However, BYD's response to the Song Plus is, "Hey, remember that dope EV we made a few years ago? We improved it even further." Therefore, while technically it is a Song Plus, it more closely resembles a Song Plus++.
2. Can it truly travel 1,000 miles on a single charge?
Let's be honest, though: BYD claims it can. Saying that a Prius can run on moonlight is similar. Under ideal circumstances, it might be possible, but you'll probably need to stop for coffee and a bathroom break somewhere around 600 miles away.
3. Is the interior as nice as the photos suggest?
Although we haven't seen one in person yet, the images suggest that BYD has improved their interior capabilities. The design is pretty slick and the materials appear to be of high quality. Naturally, we must wait to see if it stands the test of time.
4. What is its track performance like?
The Song Plus is not a performance vehicle. It's a crossover that's good for kids. Therefore, it won't corner like a Porsche. However, that does not mean it is sluggish. It has a lot of power to get you moving, and it is comfortable to drive.
5. Is the price worth it?
Although the Song Plus is certainly less expensive than a Tesla, it is still not cheap. Your priorities will determine whether or not it is worth the price. The Song Plus might be a good choice if you're looking for a practical, efficient electric vehicle with a lot of features. However, if you enjoy driving, you might want to look elsewhere.
